Was it between the Nixon and Reagan eras when I started to really pay attention to the media? Or was it earlier, as a child, when JFK was assassinated? No, it was definitely later. Current events really only caught my eye when it became part of the curriculum in junior high school. I went from being pre-teen to pre-hippie during the first couple of years. I started 7th grade in a wheelchair with two crushed ankles I received working with my brothers in our daddy’s rubbish removal business.
